Sorry to break it to you, that’s not a skunk.
It’s one of the the polecat/ferret/marten species. From the looks of it, I’d say it’s a polecat, because of its little bandit mask. Beautiful picture though.

Housecats don’t like water because it messes up their fur, but tiger fur is quite different. Tigers look soft in photographs, but their fur is actually rough — quite different to pet from what most people think.
